Last Sojourn
I walked over the dried land,
traveled along vanished roads,
where broken hearts had laid
themselves down to the surrender,
I walked without tire but spent from
the loss my heart had suffered.
Days and nights passed from one,
into the other with no break in time
but that of telling myself I am alone.
I passed from day to week and
then into tomorrow until that
day I came upon you by chance.
With softness you quenched my
thirst from the dust taken in
from those who passed me along my way.
I stared out until my eyes met yours,
how will I thank you for finding me,
this lost soul, this traveler
on his last sojourn.
