A half dozen days
Where are you now with
your hands all to yourself,
did my kisses travel to the
Rockies in search of you
and was it there they found
your lips waiting for me,
were they like a tomorrow
or a memory of yesterday.
Can you feel my hands
upon your belly when you l
ook out this night’s window
upward to the mountain’s peak.
My heart travels those summits
with your eyes as they search the
horizon for all you find beautiful.
I wish I was in your eyes now
and standing next to you
with your arms around my neck
as they pass over the hillsides
seeing what is there shinning
down upon your beauty.
Soon you will return home to me
from a half dozen days away
from snow covered worlds where
my thoughts warmed the
bed you laid within.
I have missed these lands
our compass calls love.
